A Motto or Philosophy

DAY 30 OF THE 30 DAY CHALLENGE.

"Perfect Practice Makes Perfect."

I use that one a lot.

"Never Give Up."

I dig that one.

"Be Kind To Your Webfooted Friends...For a Duck may be somebody's mother..."
oh, wrong one.

"One Man's Junk is Another Man's Treasure."

Yeah, just change the 'man' to person.

"Never waste a minute thinking about someone you don't like." Dwight Eisenhower.

"Live in such a way that is someone speaks badly of you no one would believe it."

Eh, that's a good one.

"Life is short, live it.
Love is rare, grab it.
Anger is bad, dump it.
Fear is awful, face it.
Memories are sweet. Cherish it."

"Say what you think, not think what you should say."

"Be yourself, play fair, shoot for the moon, jump for joy, count your blessings, celebrate, dance in the rain, sing silly songs, make new friends, believe in magic."

uh huh.

"Be so happy that when others look at you they become happy too."

oh yes.

"It isn't that I'm not a people person, it's just that I'm not a stupid people person."

"If you want breakfast in bed, sleep in the kitchen."

"Be cheerful; it's contagious."

don't i know.

And that's all. Yikes, it's actually a lot; not just A motto or philosophy. But you know that I can never pick one.
oh well. :)

Cheerio, and I hope you liked my motto(s)!

P.S. on the 29th day, I chose punch as a physical feature. But I was told that that was not actually a physical feature. So I choose hands. Hands are good. Very useful. Ta da. I'm so schmaert.

Hopes, Plans, Dreams....

30 Day Challenge day 29
Hopes, Dreams, and Plans I have for the next 365 Days.

Well, I hope to run a triathlon and half marathon but I would prefer to do it with Joe, and he won't even BE here!
SO I hope to do well in piano
I dream of building an awesome fort
I plan to have a good camera
and that's all I can think of at the moment.
I'm sure I'll have some more things I hope to do or something but later.

A Scar I have and It's Story

30 Day Challenge Day 28

(see above; post title) that's what this is about.
Um, I have a ton of scars, but I think I'll choose the one on my knee.
Oops, I have scar on BOTH knees. So never mind
right knee.
In the story, I shall name a day, but I really don't know what day it happened on.
This happened a few years ago, maybe in 2008 or something.
As this is a story, I am making everything up except when I get my cut, so I'll put two stars at the beginning of a sentence to let you know when the real part is.

---ahem---

It was a rainy day on Monday. Thunder cracked, and lightning flashed, lighting up everything in a split second.
Molly was staring out the window, cursing the rain silently for spoiling her day of fun that she had had planned out.
Sam was in the sunroom, playing with his cars. He stopped for a moment to glance outside, looking wistfully at all the puddles the rain was making.
Christie was writing in her diary. She loved rain, so nothing was really wrong, except that she wanted to play outside in the puddles.

About an hour later, the rain stopped, much to the joy of Christie, Molly, and Sam. (Emmy was 'busy' playing with her toys, so she didn't really mind anything)
Hurriedly putting on their swimsuits, Christie, Molly, and Sam smiled at the prospect of being able to play in the puddles.
They rushed outside and went to the ditches. The ditches were usually ALWAYS dry and never had anything in them, and weren't much of ditches, but now, they were like swimming pools, except that the water only came up to their knees.
Smiling at eachother, the trio began to splash eachother and push eachother until they fell down and got drenched.
Then they would laugh and try to drag eachother down. They were having such fun, until...
**Christie pushed Molly, who started to laugh, but quickly lost her beaming face when she struck a hidden branch under the water that gashed her knee.
They ran home, while Molly wished that this hadn't happened and spoiled their fun.
Mama fixed everything up and everything was better.
Except that now they couldn't go back out and play, because Mama didn't want anyone else getting hurt.
So Molly's knee quickly healed but is a scar that can be seen even to this day.
That is her scar that she has, and it's (a) story.

THE END.
-----
I have another scar that I could do a little story about, but it's not quite as dramatic. Like when I was running and I fell off the curb and it's the longest scar I have ever had and have. And when I was jumping on our new fireplace and I slipped and cut my foot in two places but nobody can really see the scars unless you look very carefully.
And when I fell off a friend's skateboard and scarred my knee again and my elbow.
Oh, and when I tried to slip past a gate but it cut me on the stomach and it's a scar (that can hardly be seen, but it's there).
Trust me, I have maybe more than eight scars.
Or more than more.
"A million million."

Cheerio.

30 Day Challenge: Almost Done!

Aannd I come reporting live that this is Day 27, folks, day TWENTY SEVEN, and Molly is doing simply fantastic! heh heh :)
A Physical Feature I Love
when person number one scares person number two so badly that #1 gets a big punch in the face before they realize who it is.
So, punches, really.
I've done it before. Sam has jumped out at me and scared me and before I could think twice I gave him a good punch in the face, then I was like "oh sam i'm sooo sorry it was without thinking. i'm so sorry!"
and I then get the prompt reply (this happened last month) "no you're not."
"I'm not what?"
"you're not sorry! You're not!"
of course he laughed it off. really, he did. trust me. --trussssssst in meeee!--(the snake from The Jungle Book)

AAnnd Cheerio!

A Childhood Memory

SERIOUSLY. I have a lot of childhood memories.
(speaker) Aaaannnd ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Day TWENNNNTTY SIX of the THIRRRRRTY Day CHALLENNNGE!

well what can I say? ummm.......welll...I have too many childhood memoirs, you could say, but out of the many, I think I'll pick when our dear friends the Friches lived in our neighborhood before they moved away! (of course we still see them a lot, though not as often as we like, because they have a farm to take care of! :)

I remember they used to come every single day to come swimming and just to play, sometimes after art classes or ballet classes. We'd go to their house a lot too, and sometimes we'd sleep there. We slept there once when our wood floors (which is almost the entire house) were getting replaced after they got ruined in Katrina.
We'd go play in the woods and get poison ivy and then get BANNED from the woods (which we love so much!) and couldn't go back in the woods till our poison ivy went away; and then we'd go and get more poison ivy and our moms would not be too happy. :)
One time we went to their house three days in a row, from late morning till we couldn't see outside, for a party they had for a baseball team. I remember that lady that was wearing her regular clothes and she fell down the slide and got wet so she didn't bother to put on her swim suit. hey, it works. I do it all the time. Well, I don't fall down the slide very often.
We would have airsoft wars with everyone, including Joe and Dan.
Ha, I remember shooting and shooting over and over but I couldn't hit Joe! Even when he was not hiding, but every time JOE shot, on the other hand, I would ALWAYS get hit.
Me and Emma and a few others would have to go inside before the war was over because some kids would cheat and shoot closeups, which you weren't allowed to do because it hurt so much and left bruises.
Lilly Emma and I would go into the woods and try to build houses that we were so proud of and then find it knocked down by an animal or rain or wind the next day.
I remember when I had my tenth or ninth or something like that birthday and Cole did a treasure hunt so all the kids went looking for the treasure, and when I found it, I didn't want to get my hands dirty so all the other kids dug it up with their hands. Heh heh.
Inside was a lot of candy (we had never had so much candy) so we all ate a lot, but Emma was the only one that got sick (we've never gotten any more candy in the size of a HUGE bag anymore) and Emma ate less than we all did.
And we all walked their dogs a lot, and I liked the dog everyone hated. Well, disliked, anyhow. And when they got a new puppy that was a baby! Aww, I had never seen a baby puppy and it was so cute.
More memories of them come to mind, but I think it would be too long to write them down.

I remember when the LeBlancs and Morales' came to our old church and some other friends, and how we made forts all the time. And I remember when Christie and Hayden and Emma (cept it didn't work for you, did it Emma?) got hickeys...wait. That was just a few months ago. Whaddya know?

Cheerio, and I hoped you like my long post. (I couldn't really write down the LeBlancs cause I'm saving that for later. Ya know, when I turn twenty and...actually, no, not that long)

A Recipe

Wahoo! I'm almost done with the 30 Day Challenge, peoples!
I'm on Day 25 and it calls for a recipe.

Eggs
Vinegar
Iceberg lettuce
Leeches

That's a recipe for EVIL!! mwuhahahahahahaha!!
BUT, if you want an actual honest-to-goodness recipe that probably tastes better than EVIL, then here you are:

Chocolate Cheesecake:

1½ cups chocolate wafer crumbs
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
½ cup butter, melted
2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
¾ cup sugar
3 eggs
1 (8-ounce) carton commercial sour cream
6 (1-ounce) squares semi-sweet chocolate, melted
1 tablespoon plus ¾ teaspoon cocoa
1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
½ cup whipping cream, whipped
Additional whipped cream (optional)
Chocolate curls (optional)
Almonds (optional)
Maraschino cherries (optional)

Combine first 3 ingredients, mixing well. Press mixture into bottom of a 9-inch spring form pan; chill.

Beat cream cheese with electric mixer until light and fluffy; gradually add sugar, mixing well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in sour cream, melted chocolate, cocoa, and vanilla; mix well. Gently fold in whipped cream; spoon into prepared pan.

Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour, Turn oven off; allow cheesecake to cool in oven 30 minutes. Open door, allow cheesecake to cool in oven an additional 30 minutes. Refrigerate 8 hours. Remove sides of spring form pan and garnish with additional whipped cream, chocolate curls, almonds, and cherries, if desired.

Yield: 10 to 12 servings.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That is all from the 'Great Cakes' book we have or whatever it's called, but it is awesome! And yes, I had to write this recipe all by myself on the computer to print it so Rachel could give the recipe to some people at her choir cause they wanted it.
It was painful.
'Cept that I like to type on the computer, so I almost didn't mind it.
(drumroll) so there you are, with an awesome cake.
I would have (maybe) gotten a different one, but since this one was already on the computer and I wouldn't have to sit here an extra fifteen minutes I chose this one.
And it's really good.
Top it with coffee beans, why don't you? I think it's awesome.
So I'll be posting later on!
Cheerio!
Watcha think?
So, obviously you noticed the new background and stuff. I was wanting to change my background cause I wasn't too wild about about what I had.
So I browsed around, and after a while saw the 'we can do it' header, and then I was like, "well, if I find a nice background that matches, I'll use this one and go super patriotic, for fun."
Well, red is my all time favorite color, and so it happens that my new background was a really nice red.
Well, yeah, I found the background under the title 'patriotic' where I thought it would be, so I got it annnndd I love it, so I changed all the type to courier, because they used typewriters back then all the time, so I thought I would pretend that I was using a typewriter too, or whatever.
I almost chose a black and white background with a bit of teal, but I was hesitating on that. (and then I saw the we can do it thing)
So ta da! welcome to my favorite thing, WWII stuff. I have always loved it, and I don't know why I didn't think of using this before. :)
Cheerio!
