Last day of the month!

And so we thought we'd add another post, just because January is almost allll gone. Oh my, the month went by like THAT! wow...

yesterday, Joe and Dan came home, and today, they're going back. :( We'll miss them, but see them once more on the weekend. Ah well, looking forward to that now. (by the by, Christie made her weekly baking day Friday, so that she makes fresh cookies for the boys... )

Well, we wish you a happy February filled with smiles!

We woke up this morning to find a cold cold world! When we jump on the trampoline outside, we just freeze.

This morning Joe and Dan came home for the weekend.. with a box of doughnuts!! They were deliciously (we say were..) They called before they got home, and I handed the phone to Christie. Dan told her that they were on the freeway and should be home in about 45 minutes. Then he yelled at Joe to slow down, and added that with the way Joe drove, they might be there in about 2 minutes. Then they started yelling and Dan hung up the phone; and then they walked in the door.

After that, Joe took me and Christie to the Hymn Festival, where we played a hymn for a judge. We don't know how we did yet, but Ms. Delila will give us the judge's comments on Tuesday, our lesson day. I think I did all right. I played "He Leadeth Me," and Christie played "Tis So Sweet To Trust in Jesus," and also an arrangement, "Be Thou My Vision."

Well, I hope it turns warm soon!! Post later,

Paper Beads and Such Things

Who knew there was such a thing as paper beads?? :) Girls during the Depression used to make them, as you can use really any paper to make them, and they're quite cute. Molly was given a set of them for Christmas, and also a make it yourself kit, so we have been making paper beads into earrings and such things. I know they sound a little funny and you're probably picturing something silly looking, but they're really quite pretty!!

Today we made North Woods Bean Soup and gumbo with a tomato base. I'm also making some carrot bread to go with it.mmmmmmm! It's supposed to get kind of cold around here again, so we prepared and made all our soup ahead of time, and bread's nothing to make. But a very fun nothing.

Other than that, we've spent our days beading and doing school, and playing on the trampoline! Life is so good!

It's been nearly a week since we posted, and so we figured it was time to post again. :)

Not a lot has gone on in a week! We've made cookies, baked cakes, done a wee bit of shopping for a friend, and that's about it.

Post from Molly :)

We have ice in our fountain! We had some yesterday on our pool slide, and in our birdbath! It's just kinda hard to believe that we have ice in Louisiana, when it's supposed to be a warm state, though I do wish it would snow. The cheerful thing about it being really really cold here, is that you get to have a hot chocolate, and sit by the fire, and get a blanket and a good book and you read it by the fire.
